Trouble Shooting

Care and Maintenance
WE FULFILL THE REQUIREMENT TO THINK GLOBALLY AND MANUFACTURE LOCALLY.
PROBLEM ANALYSIS
We analyze your problem and develop solution proposals which are optimally adapted to your local conditions:
Fixing of leaks thanks to optimized sealing concepts
Weak point analysis with optimization of function and material
Proposals for the conversion of hydraulic cylinders to adapt to changing or new conditions of use
DISMANTLING AND INSTALLATION
We dismantle your repair cylinders and create a detailed report of findings, as well as a repair proposal with fixed delivery schedule and description of the scope of work. After installation, your repaired cylinders are pressure and function tested. We generate a test protocol for each cylinder.
REPAIR AND OVERHAUL
After dismantling, all individual parts are tested and, where necessary, reworked or replaced. Grooved cylinder bores are honed. Grooved or damaged piston rods are polished and recoated if necessary.
SERVICE ONSITE
Our service technicians are in action for 24/7 and as far as possible , they perform repairs, analyze your cylinder problem, or perform monitoring functions during their visits .
Every cylinder is tested before dispatch:
Testing pressure is checked from the work order or from the customer’s approved drawing.
Function testing
Measurement of surface characteristics and coating thickness of the piston rod
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Always use genuine hydraulic oil. The use of other fluids may invalidate your warranty.
After use, always fully retract pistons. When hoses are disconnected always fit dust caps to couplers.
Protect cylinders from the elements when not in use. If storing for prolonged periods,
Grease exposed metal parts. Never store cylinders in an extended piston condition.
CAUTION: A double acting cylinder will become pressurized in storage if it is subjected to a temperature rise. Approximately 10 bar for every 1ºC rise. can cause difficulty when re-connecting couplers.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Refer to below to help and identify the most common faults:-
PROBLEM AND POSSIBLE CAUSES
-
Cylinder will not advance- Coupler not fully tightened .Pump release valve open. Pump oil level too low Pump malfunctioning. Pump pressure relief valve set too low .Load too great for cylinder. Cylinder already at full stroke.
-
Cylinder only advances part way- Pump oil capacity insufficient External obstruction.
-
Cylinder does not advance smoothly- Air in system.
-
Cylinder advances but will not hold load - Leaking seals Pump or valve. malfunctioning Leaking connection
-
Cylinder leaking - Cylinder damage Seal damage Loose connection.
-
Oil leaking from cylinder relief valve- Retract coupler not fully tightened Return line restricted.
-
Cylinder slow to retract/does not retract- Broken retract spring (single acting spring retract only) Insufficient load (single acting load retract only) Retract coupler not fully tightened.

e.g. Use 100 tons. Jack for lifting 80 tons. Capacity When the available stroke is 150mm.. Lift only 120mm.
Color penetration testing of welded seams
The proof test is done with over pressure (a pressure that is more than the actual usage pressure at the final machine) This is to ensure that all the joints and welds in the cylinder can take the pressure.
